The rule
How many construction porta potties does OSHA require?
OSHA requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers on a construction site. For 20 to 199 workers, the rule is 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. For 200 or more, it is 1 per 50. A standard porta potty has a seat and a urinal. Source: OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51, Table D-1.
| Crew size | OSHA minimum | Standard units to order | Hand washing (our advice) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–20 workers | 1 toilet | 1 | 1 station if handling concrete, paint or chemicals |
| 21–40 workers | 1 seat + 1 urinal per 40 | 1 (we suggest 2 for shorter lines) | 1 station |
| 41–80 workers | 1 seat + 1 urinal per 40 | 2 | 1 station |
| 81–120 workers | 1 seat + 1 urinal per 40 | 3 | 1 station |
| 200+ workers | 1 seat + 1 urinal per 50 | Workers ÷ 50, rounded up | 1 station per 3 units |
Worked example: a framing crew of 26 needs 26 ÷ 40 = 0.65, rounded up to 1 unit by law. We suggest 2 because 26 people sharing one unit makes lines at lunch. That is our recommendation, not the legal minimum. Mobile crews with a truck to reach a nearby toilet are exempt. Check your contract, which may require more.
Servicing
What does weekly job site service include?
Weekly job site service includes pumping the waste tank, scrubbing and sanitizing the seat, walls and floor, adding fresh blue deodorizer, and restocking toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The driver also checks the door spring and the lock. Large crews or summer heat may need 2 visits a week.
- Service day stays the same each week, so your superintendent knows when to expect it
- Locked gate? Share the code or leave the gate open on your route day
- Extra visits can be added for inspections, open houses or July heat
- Units are placed off the haul road so concrete and dump trucks can pass

Billing
How does monthly porta potty billing work for contractors?
Monthly porta potty billing runs on a 28-day cycle. The first cycle includes delivery, the unit and 4 weekly services. Each later cycle bills the same way until you call for pickup. A rental of 9 days and a rental of 28 days cost the same, because the price covers the cycle, not each day.
- Card on file or invoice for approved business accounts
- Certificate of insurance and W-9 available when you book
- One quote can cover several job sites, each with its own address and service day
- Call for pickup when the house is plumbed. Billing stops on the pickup date
Builders in fast-growing areas such as Mustang, Piedmont and Newcastle often keep a unit on each lot from slab to final. Add a hand washing station for concrete and drywall crews, or a towable porta potty for crews who move every day.

Call now(405) 288-7002How much is a construction porta potty per month in Oklahoma City?
A standard construction porta potty starts at $175 per 28 days with weekly service in the Oklahoma City metro. The first cycle includes delivery. Outer-county sites may add a travel charge, shown on the quote.
Can I get a unit on site tomorrow morning?
Orders placed by the end of the business day go out on the next morning route. Call before noon if you need it on site today.
What if the unit gets knocked over or damaged?
Call right away. We swap or clean up a tipped unit on the next available route. Damage caused by equipment or vandalism may be billed. Normal wear is on us.

Moving a full unit is unsafe and can spill. Call and the driver will move it on the next service visit. For crews that move daily, rent a towable trailer.

We serve lease roads, pads and pipeline right-of-ways within about 80 miles. Send a map pin and gate details, and say if the road needs a 4x4 after rain.

Book the unit with a target date and move it up or back with 24 hours' notice at no cost.
